Gedore has a nice take on the Pliers Wrench

Posted by DJ on Mar 28th 2019

The Blue button is a nice contrasting color. Can't seem to find any notable differences between these and Knipex, apart from styling (even jaws have slight styling for some reason). Replaced the need to purchase a whole wrench set.

These things work great actually used them to push a brass bushing out of some landing gear and use them regularly to press in small bushing they really are versatile, I chose these mostly because the blue would stand out in a sea of red at work. As much as I love these the knipex as two main advantages I will point out, the grips can be a bit bulky in some cases and the button only really works in one with the jaws closed but they still adjust very smooth and it's hardly a problem once you've used them a while. Also I wanted a blue button but mine is silver it shouldn't bother me but it does.

    A Masterpiece

I haven't used Knipex pliers wrenches. But this one is really a tool of materpiece. I wish Gedore had a 7" version as well since 10" is a little large for every day use.

    Copy....smopy...pfft whatever

Posted by Sam on Dec 16th 2018

Some say they are a copy of another brand's similar design. I haven't taken the time to see who started this design first to lay blame on the copy cat. Heck Fred and Barney may have made these while working in the Dino Quarry. These offer the bling factor of BMW blue button and handle with the svelte and slimming sliver upper. Not really a plug and play but rather a push and slide. Parallel jaws with cam action leverage makes gripping an equal and easy endeavor. The only challenge I have found is not actually getting my work done because I'm too busy pushing the button and sliding up and down while avoiding the teeth....they are rather sharp but well guarded. Nice cushioned handles with ribs right were you need them with the narrow jaw to get into the tighter places. Bottom line a good worthwhile purchase that will put other wrenches into the donation bin.

    Love at first squeeze

Where was this plier wrench ten years ago when I was tearing up brass fittings left and right using a monkey wrench under the sink? Not only is it good for plumbing work but the smooth jaws and parallel action lets me use them on my 3D filament printers for tear down and nozzle changes (aluminium and brass) Now if Gedore could just make a narrow jaw version ala Knipex Cobra or similar I'd convert my toolbox to Team Blue G. Ah, who'm I kidding? I could never afford it :)

    Great Knipex Alternative!

Posted by Andrew on Dec 7th 2018

These are obviously Gedore's copy of the well loved Knipex pliers-wrench. While I've never used the original Knipex I am impressed with these an I would say that they are most likely just as good. The finish on these is great with no burs on the machined surfaces .The plastic grips are quite good with a barely noticeable transition from soft black plastic to hard blue plastic. The plating is nice and consistent with no noticeable defects and is fairly smooth, not grippy like Gedore wrenches. The only problem id the button which tends to stick in some occasions and that the piers must be nearly closed to adjust the size, rather than being adjustable at any position. They work quite well as an adjustable wrench.
