decent for the (on sale) price

These are significantly cheaper than ESD pliers of similar size from Knipex. I can't compare the quality since I have not used the Knipex. These are fine for my applications in electronics and small appliances. On mine, one of the handles rotated and slipped off during hard hand pressure, and i had to find the right glue (GOOP) to glue it back on. Inspection of the metal handle showed a few spots where apparently some kind of heat glue had been spot activated. For the light use these are intended for, i think the current glue job will hold up but I will be ginger. Someone complained about the "grinding compound" leaking out of the joints on this NWS pliers range. Knipex explains in their catalog that the black stuff that emerges from the joint is burnt oil residue from the quenching and assembly process. I have used cleaner/lubricant (CLP) to rinse it out with a few hundred activations of the joint and have done this on Knipex and NWS pliers several times. It's not a defect, and has not affected function, for me. I clean it out for aesthetic reasons ;-)

    Needs better QC

Require a lot of breaking in, difficult to clean out the grinding powder that’s seeping out the the hinge.
