Awesome quality, hard to get used to

Posted by Logan Porter on Jun 5th 2020

The tool itself is great. The grips are very comfortable and, uh, grippy. The spring stays right where it is, no issues with it getting cockeyed or loose. The hinge is smooth as silk, as is the adjustment screw on top. However, I struggle with using these. I have not found any markings that tell me what wire gauge the pliers are adjusted to. I can visually guess and get close, but often that ends with mutilated wires or insulation that isn't cut all the way through. These pliers are excellent at stripping cables and odd-sized conductors, however. Even though I have relegated them to a secondary role because of the problems I've been having, they are still very useful for that specific purpose. I may well be missing something in how to properly set these up and operate them, however, so I am only docking one star.
