About Jokari

Tracing their roots to a small electronics and appliance shop in the Münsterland region of Germany, Jokari is a third-generation, family-run company specializing in wire and cable stripping tools. Extremely resourceful in the scarcity of post-war Germany, company founder Josef Krampe not only sold and installed products ranging from radios to washing machines, but also offered repair services and devised his own tools. Out of these experiences grew the design for a spring-loaded cable and wire stripper, for which he received a patent in 1966. By 1969 he had created a company to produce and sell his designs, and Jokari was born. (As an aside, the name Jokari comes from his name and the middle of his daughter’s name, Maria.)

Today Jokari continues to refine its designs in response to the ever-expanding world of wire and cable technology. Specialized tools are available for stripping the demanding cables in solar technology, data systems, fiber optics and system controls. Committed not only to producing all of their products in their own production facility in Ascheberg, Germany, but also to sourcing their raw materials from Germany or Europe, sustainability has been a key cornerstone of the business. Most strippers have easily-replaced knives and blades, and for those with a 3d printer, small parts such as depth stops can be printed from files available from the Jokari website.
