Costly But Extremely Good

I purchased this based on the quality of Felo's hand drivers, and this definitely lives up to that standard. Driving GRK structural screws with an impact, I found these to be very, very good. The finish is extremely nice, they are very smooth and have some kind of anodized finish, not a paint. It holds up surprisingly well. The tip geometry is exquisitely good, they fit better than any other brand of Torx bit I have ever encountered, and I only experienced cam-out at the most awkward angles. The longevity is wildly superior to the black Makita "ImpactX" (China) product, and is noticeably but not dramatically better than the Makita "Impact Gold" (Japan) product, which are my go-to.

These have a long, straight neck so you can really bury a fastener if you want. I like the look of it but in use, I think the Makita design with a hex section right behind the tip is ultimately better, as it gives you something to grab to remove it from the impact.

Though really nice these are also really spendy. You can get a 15 pack of the Impact Gold's at the Big Orange Retail Giant for less than the cost of two of these here at KC. So overall, these are a lovely product but the value is questionable, especially if you are going through them at a reasonable clip.

Felo

Continuously operating since 1878 and based in the city of Neustadt since 1950, Felo has distinguished itself through continuous innovation. Holding over 260 patents for their designs, and manufacturing over 2,000 different tools, Felo is most well-known for its Ergonic handle. One of the first multi-component handles, the Ergonic design combines two materials of differing softness with injected flexible gel. This results in a handle that adapts to the pressure of the user's hand, allowing maximum torque transmission and less strain on hands and joints. Other innovations include the first Titanium-Nitride coating on bits for greater wear resistance, the first interchangeable blade screwdriver for electricians, as well as the unique K-handle bit driver. All Felo products are made in their own factory in Germany and feature a lifetime warranty.
