The best maul

This is the best splitting maul that I have found so far. I split all my wood by hand because I'm odd like that. The handle construction is top notch, this thing is a tank. Even the overstrike guard is a stiffer gauge metal than other brands I've tried. Only downside to the product is the edge sheath that comes with it. Cheap thin leather and it was destroyed just from shipping. It would be nice to have a higher quality sheath for this price but the maul is still fantastic enough for five stars.

Best Splitting Axe I Have Ever Used

The OX 635 is a wood splitting hammer, also known as a maul. The difference between a maul and a splitting axe is that a maul can also be used as a sledge hammer while a splitting axe cannot. - - The"H‚" in the part number indicates that it uses a hickory handle, which is considered to be superior to ash handles for this application. The hickory handle is very nicely finished with a coat of varnish and a painted end. - - The head is mostly painted yellow and includes a leather safety guard to protect the blade and others during storage. - - The axe went through a small pile of wood like it was nothing. If you are in need of a maul then I would definitely recommend getting the Big Ox, as it may be the last you will ever need to buy. - - See my full video review here: - https://youtu.be/-UOIvBTzkMQ

OX 635 H-3009 Big Ox

I think the big ox is the only way to go with a splitting maul. I stumbled into some big chunks of pine that my friend gave to me because his tree went down with the last storm we had here. You can just tell that that maul is made of high quality steel and the Hickrey handle with the metal protector underneath the head if solid. My money is gonna be on The Big OX lasting a life time. Very happy with my purchase. Pleasantly surprised at the little time it took to ship to me. Free shipping on top of that! I will definitely recommend your company and I will buy more products from you! Thank you once again!

Ochsenkopf

Ochsenkopf ("Ox Head" in English) was founded by the Fahlefeld brothers in 1781 in Remscheid, Germany and is known as the oldest axe forge in Germany. All of its edged tools are manufactured of C60 steel, known for its incredible toughness, and ground to a cambered edge, rather than a simple knife edge - all of which guarantees longer tool life. Handles are hand crafted from ash or hickory, and the Rotband system ensures even greater safety and less likelihood of breakage. Today Ochsenkopf is part of the Gedore Group and offers a wide range of axes, hatchets, competition axes, splitting wedges, and other tools and accessories for the timber or forestry professional or the casual user who appreciates using the finest tools.
