Great hatchet!

Hatchet is a tool you must have around the house, and this guy (little but way heavier than it looks) will never disappoint you when you need it!

Very powerful for its size

I have been quite impressed with the performance of this hatchet. I took down two trees recently and have been splitting logs far larger than I thought I would be able to. Granted, logs with knots didn't split but you can't expect this hatchet alone to do it all. I am very pleased with the performance and if you're looking for something like this I'd say go for it. My only complaint even though it doesn't bother me is that the leather sheath is garbage and it was torn immeadiately. I just tossed it in the trash. But, I bought this for the german quality and steel not the sheath.

Ochsenkopf

Ochsenkopf ("Ox Head" in English) was founded by the Fahlefeld brothers in 1781 in Remscheid, Germany and is known as the oldest axe forge in Germany. All of its edged tools are manufactured of C60 steel, known for its incredible toughness, and ground to a cambered edge, rather than a simple knife edge - all of which guarantees longer tool life. Handles are hand crafted from ash or hickory, and the Rotband system ensures even greater safety and less likelihood of breakage. Today Ochsenkopf is part of the Gedore Group and offers a wide range of axes, hatchets, competition axes, splitting wedges, and other tools and accessories for the timber or forestry professional or the casual user who appreciates using the finest tools.
